A rigorous studio for your solo instrument

Violin, viola, and cello, in both group and private settings.

Group Lessons

Six to eight students matched by instrument and ability level. Weekly 45-minute sessions using the Bornoff approach. 30 lessons run September through May (three to four monthly), plus Saturday classes, monthly studio sessions, and biannual masterclass performance opportunities. Mondays or Wednesdays.

Private Lessons

One-on-one instruction. Monthly tuition includes three lessons, a studio class, a biannual masterclass, and a Saturday class with theory and electives. Six private instructors teach in the studio: Sara Maria Blanton, Julius Adams, Jose Vico, Beideth Briceño, Alexa Rose Sanfilippo, and Helena Bandy.

Studio policies

How the studio works

  • Three monthly lessons, with teacher-coordinated weekly times (typically the first three weeks of the month).
  • Cancellations made before 24 hours are eligible for a makeup; less than 24 hours’ notice means the lesson is forfeited.
  • Practice three to five times per week.
  • Two to four performance opportunities a year (never required).
  • Payment is due at the first lesson of every month.
  • Most beginner students start with Sara Maria Blanton in lessons, depending on schedule availability.
  • We firmly believe that finding the right teacher fit for your child is crucial.

Instrument rentals

Rental Program

Instruments rent with a case, bow, cleaning cloth, and rosin. General repairs are covered; unrepairable instruments become the renter’s replacement responsibility.
