The RaleighMusic Collective

Who We Are

An El Sistema inspired collective

We are an El Sistema inspired program that believes music education is a radical tool to change children’s lives for the better.

Students can sign up for private or group lessons or participate in our weekly tuition-free violin, viola, and cello classes, ensembles, and youth leadership program at two of our community strategic locations.

Our program is inspired by the El Sistema model originated in Venezuela as an orchestral training program. Its intention is to instill excellent musicianship while effecting social change by offering dignity and purpose, as well as social, educational, and professional transformation to its students.

Our program operates in communities where under-resourced students, particularly those from refugee, immigrant, and low-income families, can easily access our musically rigorous weekly classes, lessons, and orchestras.

What we believe

Music as a tool for social change

Music education is an incredible tool to radically transform children’s lives for the better.

Every student is given the opportunity to thrive in a supportive community regardless of background.

We aim to foster a diverse community of young musicians whose lives are changed through the power of music education.
